Abd al-Haqq (Muhaddith) al-Dehlawi was anIslamic scholar, Sufi and author fromIndia.[1]
He was born in 1551 (958AH) inDelhi, hence the suffixDehlavi to his name. In 1587 (996 AH), he made the pilgrimage toMecca, where he remained for the next three years studying hadith andSufism under various scholars. Upon his return to Delhi, he taught for half a century, and authored more than 100 works, including a history of Medina, and a work on the lives of saints.[2][3]
He died in Delhi, in 1642 (1052AH).[4][5]Hismausoleum is located at the edge ofHauz-i-Shamsi nearQutub Minar,Mehrauli,Delhi.[6]
