TheYeti are fictionalrobots from the long-running Britishscience fiction television seriesDoctor Who. They were originally created by the writersHenry Lincoln andMervyn Haisman and first appeared in the 1967 serialThe Abominable Snowmen. The Yeti resemble thecryptozoological creatures also called theYeti. In the series' fictional universe, these robot Yeti serve theGreat Intelligence, a formless entity with mysterious origins, and are used by the Intelligence to aid in its invasions. Following this debut appearance, the Yeti only had one other major appearance, in the 1968 serialThe Web of Fear. The Yeti were a replacement for theDaleks, another popular antagonist that had recently been written out of the series. The concept arose as a result of a discussion between the then–lead actorPatrick Troughton, Lincoln and Haisman. Lactarius resimus is a species of mushroom in theRussulaceae family. It has a cap which ranges from 4–15 cm in diameter, while its stalk has a length from 2–6 cm and a width of 1–3 cm. The mushroom is generally white, but stains yellow to orange. Its spores are white-yellow, elliptical and bumpy. An edible fungus, it is considered a delicacy in Russia and some other countries of Eastern Europe, oftenpickled in salt.
