Thefile manager in GNOME manages your files, folders and hardware. It lets you move them, create them, rename them, copy them and delete them

The default file manager is calledNautilus. There are other file managers available, such as Velocity, GMC (used in older GNOME versions),Konqueror (fromKDE) andMidnight Commander (text based file manager), but this book will focus on the default.
