ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 15. Today, DeputyMinister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmed Gurbanov, held ameeting with the newly appointed Secretary-General of theSecretariat of the "Central Asia – China" format, Sun Weidong,Trend reports,citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The main topic of the discussions was the preparation for thesecond summit of heads of state in this format, which is scheduledto be held in 2025 in Astana.
The participants of the meeting positively assessed the existingmechanism of multilateral dialogue between the Central Asiancountries and China, highlighting its constructive nature. Thediscussions covered key areas of regional cooperation, includingtrade and economic relations, the energy sector, transport andcommunication projects, and cultural and humanitarianexchanges.
Special attention was given to the Turkmen-Chinese partnership,emphasizing its strategic and long-term nature. The participantsnoted that the high level of trust and friendly relations betweenthe leaders of Turkmenistan and China contribute to the furtherstrengthening and expansion of bilateral cooperation.
It is worth noting that the first summit in the "China-CentralAsia" format took place on May 18-19, 2023, in Xi'an, ShaanxiProvince, China.
