Former Employee Sues GOTO for Rp43.2 Billion

TEMPO.CO,Jakarta - PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk is facing a legal lawsuit in the South Jakarta District Court. TheGOTO issuer is currently facing a lawsuit for illegal actions filed by Bruce McRae Haldane, former Chief Product Officer of Gojek from 2020 to 2023, totaling Rp43.2 billion.

Head of GOTO Corporate Communications, Abram Wiratma Malumbot, stated that the company respects the ongoing legal process. He said that all management policies have complied with legal provisions and applicable labor regulations.

"We convey that the case is an industrial relations dispute with a former employee that does not have a material impact on the company," said Abram in a written statement on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

As a public company, Abram added, GOTO upholds the principles of Good Corporate Governance. He ensures that GOTO implements transparency in accordance with regulations. "At present, the company remains focused on carrying out operational activities and realizing the company's vision in creating an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem, to provide a positive impact for millions of users, driver partners, and traders throughout Indonesia," he said.

Bruce's lawsuit has been registered with case number 1289/Pdt.G/2025/PN JKT.SEL on Friday, November 21, 2025. In the Case Tracking Information System, the dispute value between Bruce and GOTO is Rp43.2 billion. As for the status of this case, it is the appointment of judges.

Bruce's Legal Representative, Tiffany Efny Tambubolon, declined to comment on this lawsuit as it is ongoing. "As legal representatives, we cannot provide substantial comments to the media regarding this case," she told Tempo on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Bruce resides in Scotland. He has previously worked as a Group Product Manager at Microsoft from 1998 to 2000. Bruce's career path also includes working at Amazon as a Product Senior Director & GM. From 2020 to 2023, he served asGojek Chief Product Officer. Until 2024, Bruce is listed as the Advisor Business Climate Strategy Working Group and the Founder and CEO of Qantum Intellect.
