Null is usually that which has no value (nothingness) or no effect. It originates from theLatin wordnullus, meaning not any. "Null" is the word for zero inGerman andNorwegian. (Similar to "nul" inDutch andDanish, "noll" inSwedish and "nulo" inEsperanto.)
Origin[French nul, from Old French, from Latin nullus. See ne in Indo-European Roots.]
Missing definitionUnder English, Verb, "2. To form nulls, or into nulls, as in a lathe."Under Noun, there is no definition of "nulls" or singular "null" as used in this sentence - which is obviously not speaking of the zero concept. Noun section needs updating to include this meaning of the word.Ptilinopus (talk)00:10, 24 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
