Zoho Music is aLatin jazzindependent record label based in New York, founded by Joachim Becker in 2003.[1] In 2005, the label expanded toblues,R&B, Southern andclassic rock on theZoho Roots imprint. The catalog consists of over 180 CD releases, which includes threeGrammy Award-winning albums and threeLatin Grammy Award-winning albums.[1][2]

History
editGerman-born Joachim Becker moved to the United States in 1980, eventually settling inMillwood, New York in 1986. In 2000, Becker co-founded the label Khaeon, which lasted for three years before it was folded.[1] In September 2003, Becker founded Zoho Music, bringing some artists from Khaeon. His first signing was Americanjazz bassistHarvie S. The last album by Puerto Ricanpercussionist andbandleaderRay Barretto,Standards Rican-ditioned, was posthumously on Zoho Music before his death in 2006.[1]
In 2005, the label received its firstRecording Academy award, aLatin Grammy award for Best Tango Album, awarded toBajo Cero by Argentine pianistPablo Ziegler.[1] Since then two more released have won awards,Leo Brouwer'sThe String Quartets/String Trio forBest Classical Album in 2010, andArturo O'Farrill'sFinal Night at Birdland forBest Instrumental Album in 2014.[3]
In 2007,blues musicianIke Turner won aGrammy Award forBest Traditional Blues Album for his Zoho Roots releaseRisin' with the Blues.[4] Arturo O'Farrill won a Grammy forBest Latin Jazz Album in 2009 for his albumSong for Chico. Pablo Ziegler's albumJazz Tango won for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2018.[4][2]
