History
editThe village centre of Ulvik was burned by theGermans in April 1940, as retaliation to having been hindered by Norwegian resistance fighters who were landing in Ulvik. In total, 56 houses were burned. The following day, the population, mainly farmers, were chased away from their homes, not being able to return for several months. The village was rebuilt after the war,[4] with the hotel reopening in 1952.[5]
