I'm calling BS on those "uncredited" roles, especially "The Canary Murder Case". I've seen the film, and the only teenager in it looks nothing like Morgan. Furthermore, considering he was born in 1908 and the film was released in 1929, he'd have had to have been almost 30 at least. Either one person made a mistake and it's being transplanted everywhere across Wikipedia, or someone saw an interview in which he said it was his first film (but didn't mention his part was edited out) and that person then "assigned" him to the teenager since it was the only uncredited role in the film. I'm deleting it. (This isn't the first time I've seen Dennis Morgan assigned to things he didn't do. It's a common name.) In fact, I'm deleting the next two films as well. They're unsourced and he's also listed in an uncredited role as a teenager.Ghost writer's cat (talk)05:57, 11 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
- Looking through the edit history, I see all the early films were added by 2a01:e0a:9aa:b830:f0a0:ecaa:d2f:177e on April 3, 2024:
- The Canary Murder Case (1929) as the teenager (uncredited)
- Innocents of Paris (1929) as the teenager (uncredited)
- River of Romance (1929) as the Russian teen (uncredited)
- Jealousy (1929) as Hugo (credited as Stanley Morner)
- True to the Navy (1930) as Bob Oldfield (credited as Stanley "Tiny" Morner)
- Anybody's Woman (1930) as Nick Stephenson (credited as Stan Morner)
- I left the films in which he's credited under a different name because that is actually his name and if the movie can be found, this should be verifiable at some point. But the only source for these credits is the editor, who's placed this information here and in the movie pages. It's highly suspect.Ghost writer's cat (talk)19:35, 11 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm posting this here because I haven't verified how reliable this source is, but it has some information I haven't seen anywhere else. From 1937.https://vintoz.com/blogs/vintage-movie-resources/stanley-morner-1937Ghost writer's cat (talk)20:21, 11 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
