"A hallmark is the same Melendez who gives Snoopy his peculiar nose also performs his voice." What exactly does that sentence mean? All I get is that Bill Melendez does Snoopy's voice. What's with the mention of Snoopy's nose? —User:ACupOfCoffee@04:50, 1 February 2006 (UTC)Reply
- I wondered about that, too. So I have taken the liberty of changing that sentence to simply read "Melendez performed the voice of Snoopy, who normally in the specials does not talk." --Jalabi9921:46, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
This appears to be another case where the media have failed to determine the actual cause of death, or they are discriminating. Being 91 years old is not a cause. For younger humans, the media usually state specific causes.Ykral (talk)10:41, 4 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
This links to the comic strip, not an article on the TV shows, which strictly speaking does not exist. WouldCategory:Peanuts television specials be acceptable?Philip Cross (talk)16:02, 5 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
- Since there have been no objections, I have made such a link in the section onBill Melendez Productions.H.G.09:40, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
What a sad, sad loss to the world of animation. Bill Melendez was an absolute star. Snoopy got his own voice because of him, and the world got Charlie Brown on the screen. Tragic.Thor Malmjursson (talk)00:42, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
This article is missing Bill Melendez's work at UPA in the 1950s.Steelbeard1 (talk)11:38, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

"and the voices were mechanically speeded up at different volumes" Speeded?? I believe the terminology sought here would be "sped up". I guess written by one of those teens who also writes "casted" for "cast" LOL! (talk)12:55, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why did he choose the name Bill?The Mo-Ja'al (talk)06:55, 31 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
I moved the article back to Bill Melendez perWP:COMMONNAME, the original location. It was moved toBill Meléndez without discussion and I undid that move. Every reference I checked and most credits used that name without the diacritics. I made the same changes in the article to match that as well. If it is desired to move the article again seeWP:RM#CM.Geraldo Perez (talk)14:56, 2 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
- Also note that the NYT obit gives his birth name as "José Cuauhtémoc Melendez" so "Bill Meléndez" is likely an example ofhypercorrection. As an aside, the article also stated that he started using "Bill Melendez" when Disney wouldn't let him use his preferred "Cuauhtémoc Melendez" as it was too wide for the credits.Geraldo Perez (talk)01:00, 3 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
