Susan Batson is an Americanproducer,actress,author,acting coach, and a life member of theActors Studio.[1] Batson graduated fromGirls Latin School[2] andEmerson College.[3]

One of three sisters born toJohn Batson and Ruth (Watson) Batson (the latter a notedcivil rights activist), Susan trained withHarold Clurman,Uta Hagen,Herbert Berghof atHB Studio,[4] andLee Strasberg. She has coached notable actresses including Academy Award (Oscar)-winning actressesNicole Kidman andJuliette Binoche.[5][6]

Batson won the 1971Obie Award for[6] her performance inAC-DC.[3] On Broadway, she performed inGeorge M! (1968) andThe Leaf People (1975), and produced the 2006 production ofA Raisin in the Sun.[7] Her work inAdventures of a Black Girl in Search of God won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for her.[2]
