Surya Dharma Paloh (born 16 July 1951) is anIndonesian politician and media mogul. He ownsMedia Group, a conglomerate company that includes theMedia Indonesia dailynewspaper andMetroTV, a 24-hour newstelevision channel. In politics, he was the chairman of the advisory board of theGolkar Party, currently the second biggestpolitical party inIndonesia.[1] He is also the founder of National Democrat mass organization, which later gave birth to theNasDem Party (Partai Nasional Demokrat or Partai NasDem) on 26 July 2011.[2]
