Spencer Rocco Lofranco (born October 18, 1992) is a former Canadian actor. He made his film debut in the 2013 romantic comedyAt Middleton as Conrad Hartman, and portrayed the lead role of James Burns in the 2014 crime dramaJamesy Boy. He then co-starred as Harry Brooks in the biographical war dramaUnbroken (2014) and as Billy in the crime dramaDixieland (2015).

Early life
editLofranco was born inToronto,Ontario on October 18, 1992, to Rocco (Rocky) C. Lofranco, a lawyer,[1] and Amy Lofranco, an opera singer.[2] His parents divorced when he was a child.[2] He has one older brother, Santino, and was raised inThornhill, Ontario. He attendedRobert Land Academy military school fromninth grade throughtwelfth grade, after struggling with the traditional school system.[1] Lofranco currently lives inVancouver, BC.
Career
editOn June 19, 2012, Lofranco was cast as Conrad Hartman, a high school senior touring a college campus, in the independent romantic comedyAt Middleton.[3] He starred alongsideAndy García andVera Farmiga in the film, which premiered at theSeattle International Film Festival on May 17, 2013, and was released in alimited release and through onvideo on demand on January 31, 2014.[4]
He had his first starring role, as the troubled teenager James Burns, in Trevor White's biographical crime drama filmJamesy Boy.[5] The film also starredMary-Louise Parker,Ving Rhames andTaissa Farmiga, and was released on January 3, 2014, throughvideo on demand before being released on January 17, 2014, in alimited release.[6]
In 2014, he co-starred inAngelina Jolie's war dramaUnbroken as Harry Brooks, oppositeJack O'Connell,Finn Wittrock andDomhnall Gleeson.[7] The film was released to theaters on December 25, 2014 byUniversal Pictures. That same year, he also starred in the short thriller filmHome, written and directed by John Henry Hinkel, playing the role of Mark. In 2015, he co-starred in the crime filmDixieland, alongsideRiley Keough,Chris Zylka andFaith Hill.[8] The film premiered at theTribeca Film Festival on April 19, 2015.[9] The film was released on December 11, 2015, in alimited release and throughvideo on demand byIFC Films.[10]
Personal life
editOn August 6, 2013, while driving his SUV, Lofranco hit actress Camille Banham, who was riding her bike at the time.[11] Lofranco initially stopped his vehicle and apologized, but then returned to his vehicle and drove away without offering help, leaving Banham with a broken hip and other fractures. Lofranco was convicted ofmisdemeanorhit and run and sentenced to 50 days ofcommunity service.[11]By 2018 Lofranco, by choice, was living on the beach as a homeless person selling his art and went by the nickname 'Fire'.
