Siddhi Vinayak Temple in Siddhatek

Siddhatek[1] is a town in theAhmednagar district of the western part ofIndia located on theBhima River. The town is known for itstemple to Sri Siddhi Vināyaka, the right-tusked incarnation ofGanesha as "Masterful Remover".[2] Legends surrounding the north-facing temple suggest it was built to commemorate the place whereLord Vishnu defeated the evilAsurasMadhu-Kaitabh with the blessing of Siddhi Vināyaka.[3] The shrine is particularly popular during the festivals ofGanesh Jayanti,Vijayadashami and SomvatiAmavasya.[4]
