Scylace orSkylake (Ancient Greek:Σκυλάκη), was a town ofancient Mysia, on the coast of thePropontis, east ofCyzicus.[1] It was aPelasgian town; in this place and the neighbouringPlacia, the Pelasgians, according toHerodotus, had preserved their ancient language down to his time.[2] ThePeriplus of Pseudo-Scylax mentions only Placia, butPomponius Mela[3] andPliny the Elder[4] speak of both as still existing.
Its site is tentatively located near Yeni Köy,Bursa Province,Turkey.[5][6]
