Rajesh Tailang is an Indian actor known for his work in films and web series.^[2][3] He received a nomination for Best Actor at the2nd Canadian Screen Awards for his performance in the filmSiddharth.^[4]

In addition to acting, Tailang is also a poet.^[5] He is the brother of the late cartoonistSudhir Tailang.

Tailang was born inBikaner,Rajasthan, to Shrikrishna Tailang.^[6][7] His brother, the late Sudhir Tailang, was a noted political cartoonist and a recipient of thePadma Shri. Tailang is an alumnus of theNational School of Drama.^[8]

Tailang began his acting career in 1994 withDD National's first daily soap,Shanti – Ek Ghar Ki Kahani.^[9][10] His first film appearance was inGovind Nihalani'sHazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa.^[11] He went on to appear in films such asJayate,Thakshak,Dev,Mangal Pandey, andAmal, along with several television serials and telefilms.^[10][12]

In 2013, Tailang gained mainstream recognition with the filmSiddharth, directed by Richie Mehta, for which he received a nomination for Best Actor at theCanadian Screen Awards.^[13] The film received positive reviews from international critics, who particularly praised Tailang's performance.^[14][15][16]

In 2015, he appeared in several notable projects, includingUmrika,The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, andPhantom.^[17][18]

He further expanded his filmography with roles inOmerta,Mukkabaaz,Haseena Parkar, andAiyaari. His portrayal of Ramakant Pandit in the web seriesMirzapur, Mohan Kumar inSelection Day, Bhupendra Singh inDelhi Crime, and Rajendra Rathore inBandish Bandits brought him wide recognition in the OTT space.^[19][20][21]

He later appeared in films such asCommando 3,Panga,Comedy Couple,Pagglait,Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha,Chhatriwali, andUlajh.^[20][22][23]

Tailang has also featured in several web series, includingRangbaaz,Dahan,Crackdown, andTrial by Fire.^[24][25]

Tailang authored the poetry collectionChaand Pe Chai, published byVani Prakashan in 2022.^[26][27]
