Queenie Chan is a Chinese-AustralianOriginal English-Language comic artist who co-wrote and illustrated the graphic novelIn Odd We Trust, a prequel toDean Koontz'sOdd Thomas, and published byDel Rey. She illustrated the sequel,Odd Is On Our Side, and is illustratingThe Boy's Book of Positive Quotations forFairview Press.[1]

Background and early career
editShe originally lived in Hong Kong,[2] but in 1986, she and her family moved to Australia.[3] Through her childhood, she was interested in readingmanga and also read Chinese-translated versions ofShonen Jump as well as popular American cartoon strips such asGarfield andCalvin and Hobbes.
She attendedMeriden High School before graduating and enrolling at theUniversity of New South Wales (UNSW) to study computer programming, but in mid-1998, she was inspired to write and draw her own manga stories after readingRurouni Kenshin.[4]
Career
editQueenie Chan started publishing her own web comics before she considered submitting her work toTokyopop in 2005, where she successfully published her three volume seriesThe Dreaming.
Bill Sherman, reviewing Chan's work onThe Dreaming praised her work stating she was a "skillful visual storyteller, capable of slathering on the atmosphere".[5]
