Michael Rispoli (born November 27, 1960)[1] is an Americancharacter actor.[2] He was a contender for the role ofTony Soprano in theHBO television seriesThe Sopranos,[3] but was ultimately cast asJackie Aprile, a recurring character in the show's first season. Rispoli reunited withSopranos co-starJames Gandolfini in the 2009 thrillerThe Taking of Pelham 123. He was a series regular on the HBO seriesThe Deuce.

Early life and education
editRispoli, a second-generationItalian American, was raised inTappan, New York, one of eight children,[4][5] and attendedTappan Zee High School, where he played football.[6] He majored in theater atState University of New York at Plattsburgh and graduated in 1982.[7]
