There have been concerns about Russian drugs in theWestern world owing to allegedly lowerstandards of medical evidence in Russia compared to the West, for instance in the case of the RussianCOVID vaccineSputnik V.^{[7][8][unreliable source?]}

Some Russian drugs have been attempted to berepurposed and developed bypharmaceutical companies for use in the West, such asphenylpiracetam (fonturacetam),(R)-phenylpiracetam (MRZ-9547),^[9]Noopept (omberacetam),^[10] andarmesocarb (theactiveenantiomer ofmesocarb).^[11]
