Thekomabue (高麗笛) ("Koma flute") is atransversebamboo flute, afue that is used in traditional Japanese court music.

Construction
editThekomabue is typically constructed from bamboo. It is a transverse flute with six finger-holes. It is 36 cm, shorter than theryuteki flute.[1]
Use
editThekomabue is used in bothGagaku andKomagaku. Historically the Oga family of musicians in Japan specialized in thekomabue.[2]
