Kenny Larkin

Kenny Larkin (who also releases asDark Comedy) is an Americantechno producer fromDetroit. He has been described byAllMusic as "massively influential" on American, British, and German techno.[3]

Larkin was born in 1968 and raised in Detroit, but did not participate in the early years ofDetroit techno because he was serving in the military. Upon his return, he began producing, influenced byJuan Atkins andDerrick May, as well as theChicagohouse music scene.[3] His early single releases, "We Shall Overcome" and "Integration", were issued onPlus 8, a label overseen byRichie Hawtin andJohn Acquaviva;[4] later releases appeared on Buzz andWarp as well as other labels. His records have seen more success in continental Europe than in the U.S.
