TheKaron orKalɔɔn[2] language is anendangered language ofSenegal andGambia. It belongs to theBak branch of theNiger–Congo language family, and is particularly closely related to theMlomp language.

Karon is spoken in a coastal area north of the mouth of theCasamance River. A person is calledalɔɔn in the language, and speakers refer to their own language askägup kɔlɔɔnay.[2]
