Karakoyunlu is a town inIğdır Province in theEastern Anatolia region ofTurkey. It is the seat ofKarakoyunlu District.[2] Its population is 2,728 (2022).[1] The town is populated byAzerbaijanis.[3]

Statues with ram heads
editGravestones with ram heads existing in almost all old cemeteries in Iğdır Plain are remnants from theKara Koyunlu period. These commemorate brave, heroic persons and young persons who died at a young age.[4]
