Joseph Straus (born 1938 inTrieste,Italy)[1] is professor ofintellectual property law, former director of theMax Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law,Munich,Germany,[1] and Chairman of the Managing Board of theMunich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC). According to theIntellectual Asset Management magazine, he is "one of the world's most influentialpatentscholars."[2] He is member and dean of the Class "Social Sciences, Law and Economics" of theEuropean Academy of Sciences and Arts.[1]
