John Christopher Harabedian (born 1981) is an American attorney and politician who is a member of theCalifornia State Assembly for the41st district.

Early life and education

Harabedian was born and raised inSierra Madre, California by John and Joanne Harabedian,[1] and his father has anArmenian American andCherokee background.[2] He graduated fromLoyola High School. He earned hisBachelor of Arts inpolitical science fromYale University,Master of Science in comparative social policy fromOxford University in 2006, and aJuris Doctor degree fromStanford University in 2010.[2]

Political career

Harabedian was elected to theSierra MadreCity Council in 2012, re-elected in 2016, and served two terms as mayor. He also worked as a deputydistrict attorney.[2]

Harabedian ran for theLos Angeles County Board of Supervisors in District 5, placing third behind incumbentKathryn Barger and Darrell Park.[3]

California State Assembly

Harabedian initially announced that he would run for theCalifornia State Senate in the25th district, but ultimately decided to switch to theCalifornia State Assembly in the41st district.[4]

Personal life

Harabedian lives inPasadena with his wife, Young-Gi, and their three children.[2]
