Joey Tafolla (bornc. 1965[1]) is an American guitarist known for his work with theheavy metal bandJag Panzer and soloinstrumental releases.

Biography
editBorn inSan Diego, California, Tafolla is the son ofRosie Hamlin and Noah Tafolla, the singer and guitarist ofRosie and the Originals, respectively.[2] A member of theheavy metal bandJag Panzer from 1984 to 1986, Tafolla has rejoined the band several times over the years for albums and live concerts.[3]
Tafolla joinedMike Varney'sShrapnel Records label soon after leaving Jag Panzer for the first time and released his debut albumOut of the Sun in 1987, which includedTony MacAlpine,Paul Gilbert andWally Voss.[3] His second release, 1991'sInfra-Blue,[3] was a noticeable departure from theneoclassical metal stylings of his first album, and demonstrated an intense blues fusion feelinstrumental rock-oriented sound. Tafolla returned to Jag Panzer in 1995, but left again after 1997'sThe Fourth Judgement and later again afterThe Deviant Chord. He released a third solo album,Plastic, in 2001.[1] In 2018, he joined theGraham Bonnet Band and featured on the albumMeanwhile Back in the Garage.[4]
Tafolla has also toured or recorded withQuiet Riot,Michael Sweet, and Wolf Pakk.
