Hebron (/ˈhiːbrən/) is anunincorporated community andcensus-designated place (CDP) inBoone County,Kentucky, United States.[2] It is named after the biblical city ofHebron. As of the2020 census, it had a population of 6,195. The wider Hebron area is home to theCincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, which servesCincinnati and theTri-State (Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana) area.

History
editPreviously known asBriar Thicket and possiblyHecla, the communitypost office established in 1858 was named for the local Hebron Lutheran Church.[3]
Geography
editHebron is located in northern Boone County, on the western edge of the Cincinnati–Covington suburbs.Interstate 275 forms the northern edge of the CDP, with the CDP ofFrancisville to the north. The center of Hebron is focused around the intersection ofKentucky Route 20 andKentucky Route 237, located 3 miles (5 km) west of the entrance to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Downtown Cincinnati is 16 miles (26 km) to the east of Hebron by I-275 and I-75/71.
According to theU.S. Census Bureau, Hebron has a total area of 6.4 square miles (16.7 km2), of which 0.012 square miles (0.03 km2), or 0.18%, is water.[4]

[1][2] Hebron became a Census Designated Place with the2010 Census however before this change of designation Hebron was aCCD (Census County Division) in the2000 census and those previous. The boundaries were also changed with this new designation as a CCD.

editHebron is served by one daily newspaper,The Kentucky Enquirer (an edition ofThe Cincinnati Enquirer), and by one weekly newspaper,The Boone County Recorder. Hebron is also served by twelve television stations and many radio stations as part of the Greater Cincinnati media market.

editHebron is served byCincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (IATA:CVG,ICAO:KCVG,FAALID:CVG), which is a hub forDHL Aviation and a focus city forAllegiant Air.
The airport is in anunincorporated area of the county.[9] Various articles of theCincinnati Enquirer describe the airport as being in Hebron.[10][11] Additionally, the airport terminal uses a Hebron postal address.[12] The airport is outside of the Hebron CDP, which is defined by theU.S. Census Bureau.[9]
Highways
editHebron is served by one majorinterstate highway.Interstate 275 is anouter-belt highway throughNorthern Kentucky.
It is also served by numerous state highways:Kentucky Route 237 (North Bend Road),Kentucky Route 20 (Petersburg Road), and formerly Kentucky Route 3168 (Limaburg Road).

In 2010, work on the KY 237 bridge over I-275 finished, with additional sidewalk and storm drain work.

editHebron is served by theTransit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) which serves Northern Kentucky and operates bus links in Cincinnati at Metro's main Government Square hub.
