Cardiogeriatrics, orgeriatric cardiology, is the branch ofcardiology andgeriatric medicine that deals with the cardiovascular disorders inelderly people.

Cardiac disorders such ascoronary heart disease, includingmyocardial infarction,heart failure,cardiomyopathy, andarrhythmias such asatrial fibrillation, are common and are a major cause of mortality in elderly people.[1][2][3] Vascular disorders such asatherosclerosis andperipheral arterial disease cause significant morbidity and mortality in aged people.[1][2][3] Guidelines of the Cardiogeriatrics Department of the Brazilian Cardiology Society were published in English.[3]

TheAmerican Journal of Geriatric Cardiology[4] is the official journal of theSociety of Geriatric Cardiology.[5]
