Francium hydroxide is ahypotheticalinorganic compound with achemical formulaFrOH. It is ahydroxide offrancium.
It probably can be produced by reacting francium metal withwater:[1]
This reaction might be explosive, because this reaction is probably veryexothermic, because of whichwater could suddenly startboiling violently, producing hotwater vapor, and very flammablehydrogen gas is produced in the reaction as well, and hydrogen could ignite, causing fire and explosion. However this is all guesswork, as a visible quantity of francium has never been made.
Francium hydroxide'salkalinity is predicted to be stronger thancaesium hydroxide.[2]
