Esfandiar Ahmadieh (Persian:اسفندیار احمدیه; 1929–2012)[1] was an Iranian animation film director. He is regarded as the "father of theIranian animation".[1] His most significant works include the filmsMolla Nasreddin,Satellite,Jealous Duck,Wheat Crop, andWhere Are You Going Kite? He drew many of his animations with pencil.[2]
His 90-minute filmRostam and Esfandiar (no relation to filmmaker) tells the story of the legendary heroEsfandiar, originally told ifFerdowsi's epicShahnameh.
