Crispin Diego Remulla

Crispin Diego "Ping" Diaz Remulla (born September 28, 1990) is a Filipino politician who has served as the representative forCavite's7th district since 2023. Prior to his election, Remulla served as a member of theCavite Provincial Board, representing the7th district from 2019 to 2023, and as a member of theIndang Municipal Council from 2018 to 2019.

Early life

Remulla was born on September 28, 1990, in the city ofSan Juan inMetro Manila. He is one of the sons ofJesus Crispin Remulla.[1]

Political career

Indang councilor (2018–2019)

Remulla served as a municipal councilor ofIndang, Cavite, from 2018 to 2019. He opted not to seek re-election to run for theCavite Provincial Board in2019.[2]

Cavite Provincial Board (2019–2023)

Remulla was elected to theCavite Provincial Board in2019, placing first out of four candidates.[3] He was reelected in2022.[4]

Congressional career (2023–present)

On May 23, 2022, his father, Jesus Crispin, was offered the position ofSecretary of Justice under the incomingadministration of then-president-electBongbong Marcos.[5] He accepted the position, resigning his rights to the seat before his second consecutive term as a representative began in order to assume the office, thereby triggering a special election for his seat.[6] As the son of the previous congressman, the younger Remulla was seen as the favorite to win the election.

Tenure

Remulla was sworn into office at theBatasang Pambansa Complex on February 28, three days following his election.[7][8] His brother, Francisco Gabriel "Abeng" Remulla, filled the seat he vacated in the Cavite Provincial Board to finish his term expiring in 2025.[9][10]

Remulla is seeking re-election for a full term as representative in2025.[11]

Personal life

Remulla is married to Georgia Parungao,[12] with whom he has two children.[8]

Like his father, grandfather and uncles, he is an active member ofUpsilon Sigma Phi.
