Cann River is a town in theEast Gippsland region ofVictoria, Australia. The town is located on theCann River at the junction of thePrinces Highway and theMonaro Highway, in theShire of East Gippsland. At the2016 census, Cann River had a population of 194 people.

editThe town is close to theLind,Coopracambra,Croajingolong, andAlfrednational parks, and is a popular stopping point for travellers betweenMelbourne andSydney using the Princes Highway route. Public transport services are provided to the town byV/Line, acoach service betweenCanberra andBairnsdale, that operates three times per week.[3]
Thepost office opened on 1 July 1890.[4]

editIn the 2016 Census, there were 194 people in Cann River. 85.3% of people were born in Australia and 86.3% of people spoke only English at home.[1]
