Camp (Irish:An Com)[1] is a village near theSlieve Mish Mountains inCounty Kerry,Ireland, on theDingle Peninsula. It is close to theDingle Way and is a destination for tourists.
The village has been associated with theMilesians legend,[2] thus the first possiblerecorded history from the area dates to around 1700 BC.[3] Local rail transport used to include the route along theTralee and Dingle Light Railway.[3]Killelton Church, a medieval National Monument, lies 2.5 km (1.6 mi) to the east.
The localRoman Catholic church, which is dedicated to Saint Mary, was builtc. 1830.[4]
