William Campfield (born August 20, 1956) is a formerAmerican footballrunning back in theNational Football League (NFL) for thePhiladelphia Eagles and theNew York Giants. He played inSuper Bowl XV in 1981. He playedcollege football at theUniversity of Kansas and was selected in the eleventh round of the1978 NFL draft.

Early life
editCampfield graduated fromDerby High School inDerby, Kansas, in 1974. He was a four-year letterman as a running back at Kansas, averaging over six yards every time he touched the ball and scoring 12 career touchdowns.
Professional career
editPhiladelphia Eagles
editCampfield was selected by thePhiladelphia Eagles in the eleventh round of the1978 NFL draft. He was waived on August 22, 1983.[1]
New York Giants
editCampfield was claimed off waivers by theNew York Giants, and he was released a week later on August 29, 1983.[2]
San Antonio Gunslingers
editCampfield signed a one-year contract with theSan Antonio Gunslingers, and one week later, on March 6, 1984, announced his retirement.[3]
Arizona Outlaws
editCampfield came out of retirement and signed with theArizona Outlaws on February 12, 1985.[4]
