Early life
editKellerman was born inManchester,Lancashire.[1] HerJewish father, Walter Kellermann (1915–2012), had fledNazi Germany and settled inLeeds, where he became aSenior Lecturer in the Department ofPhysics at theUniversity of Leeds. Her mother,Marcelle, was a member of theFrench Resistance during theSecond World War who became a teacher of modern foreign languages.[2] She trained atRose Bruford College.[3]
Career
editKellerman's film credits include:Satan's Slave,The Monster Club andThe Sea Wolves.[4] Her television appearances include:Space: 1999,The Glittering Prizes,1990,The Mad Death,Quatermass andThe Chronicles of Narnia and the hard-hitting police dramaThe Professionals (1979), episodeRunner, in which she played Sylvie the girlfriend of a former police officer who also has a relationship with a renegade former member of anorganised crime network.[1][5][6]
She is also known for her appearances in theBBC adaptations of three of the Narnia books, most notably as the tyrannicalWhite Witch inThe Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe (1988).[7] A year later she had a minor role as the Old Hag (Narnian Hag) inPrince Caspian in (1989), and finally as the evilLady of the Green Kirtle inThe Silver Chair in 1990.[1] On the radio, she portrayedModesty Blaise in a 1978BBC World Service adaptation of the novelLast Day in Limbo.[8]
She made a 20-minute drama for With Light Productions in 2007 for director Anita Parry entitledThe Lights of Santa Cruz. It co-starredChristian Rodska and was the story of two middle-aged divorcees doing up a boat on theSomerset coast. It was filmed inWatchet, Somerset (a small shipping port on the south-west coast of England) over a four-day period, mostly on a refittedSwedish fishing boat, theJosefine.[9] The film was entered intoBristol's Brief Encounters Festival and is now on YouTube.
Personal life
editKellerman lived inBath, Somerset during the 1980s and 1990s. She was previously married to Robin Scobey (born 1945).[10] Kellerman has two younger siblings, a brother named Clive and a sister named Judith.[11]
