Andrew Knott (born 22 November 1979) is an English actor. He is known for portraying Dickon Sowerby in 1993 film adaptationThe Secret Garden, based onthe novel byFrances Hodgson Burnett, and as Henry Green in the television drama seriesWhere the Heart Is. He has also appeared in the sitcomGavin & Stacey as Dirtbox.

Life and career
editKnott was born inSalford. His first acting was done in British television and radio programmes. He was trained in theOldham Theatre Workshop. Knott's first major film wasWarner Brothers'The Secret Garden in 1993, in which he playedDickon Sowerby. He went on to play Joe Green inBlack Beauty. In the late 1990s, he played Darren Featherstone and Liam Shepherd inCoronation Street.
In 2004, he returned to theatre to act inAlan Bennett'sThe History Boys. TheNational Theatre production later toured the world, affording Knott hisBroadway debut. He reprised his role on BBC radio, and in Bennett'sfilm adaptation which was directed by the National'sNicholas Hytner. In 2011, he appeared in "The National Anthem", an episode of theanthology seriesBlack Mirror.Knott later appeared in the TV seriesDrop Dead Gorgeous andGavin & Stacey, and the BBC 3 drama seriesSpooks: Code 9 as Rob.
