The2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship is a scheduledmotor racing championship forFormula 3 cars sanctioned by theFédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship will be the seventeenth season of Formula 3 racing and the eighth season run under theFIA Formula 3 Championship moniker. FIA Formula 3 is anopen-wheel racing category serving as the third tier offormula racing in theFIA Global Pathway. The category will be run in support of selected rounds of the2026 FIA Formula One World Championship. As the championship is aspec series, all teams and drivers competing in the championship will run the same car, theDallara F3 2025.
Campos Racing will enter the season as the reigning Teams' Champions, having secured their inaugural title at the final race of the 2025 season atMonza Circuit.
The following teams and drivers are scheduled to compete in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship.[1] As the championship is aspec series, all teams will compete with an identicalDallara F3 2025 chassis with a 3.4 L (207 cu in) naturally-aspiratedV6 engine developed byMecachrome.[2] All teams will compete with tyres supplied byPirelli.

Campos Racing will have an all-new lineup afterNikola Tsolov,Mari Boya andTasanapol Inthraphuvasak left the team, all graduating toFormula 2, with Tsolov remaining with Campos, Boya toPrema Racing and Inthraphuvasak joiningART Grand Prix.[7][8][9] The team signed two sophomore drivers in2025 Macau Grand Prix winnerThéophile Naël, who leavesVan Amersfoort Racing after finishing eighth with the team in 2025, andUgo Ugochukwu, who leftPrema Racing after ending the 2025 season 16th.[10][11]Red Bull Junior driverErnesto Rivera will complete Campos' lineup on his graduation from theirEurocup-3 outfit.[12]
Reigning championRafael Câmara will step up to Formula 2 withInvicta Racing, whileCharlie Wurz leaves the series to compete inSuper Formula withTeam Goh.[13][14] The team signedFRECA championFreddie Slater and promoted runner-upMatteo De Palo for their full-season debut after Slater already deputised for two rounds forAIX Racing andHitech in 2025.[15][16]
BothTim Tramnitz andBruno del Pino leftMP Motorsport, with the latter joiningVan Amersfoort Racing.[17] To replace them, the team signedreigning Eurocup-3 championMattia Colnaghi, who also joined theRed Bull Junior Team, as well asFerrari junior driverTuukka Taponen, who departsART Grand Prix after coming ninth in 2025.[18][19][20]
ART Grand Prix reset their lineup asTuukka Taponen joinedMP Motorsport,James Wharton joinedPrema Racing andLaurens van Hoepen moved to Formula 2 withTrident.[20][21][22] The team signed Eurocup-3winter series championMaciej Gładysz, who finished tenth in Eurocup-3, and promoted2024 French F4 ChampionTaito Kato andKanato Le from their FRECA outfit, where they finished the 2025 season in seventh and 14th, respectively.[23][24][25]
Van Amersfoort Racing will have an all-new line-up, asThéophile Naël moved to Campos Racing whileSantiago Ramos andIvan Domingues left the team.[10] VAR promotedHiyu Yamakoshi from its FRECA outfit, who finished ninth, and signedBruno del Pino, who leaves MP Motorsport after finishing the 2025 season in 23rd.[17] In September 2025 it was announced thatJesse Carrasquedo Jr., who deputised forHitech for two rounds in 2025, would drive for the team in 2026.[26][27] However, Carrasquedo vacated his seat indefinitely for personal reasons ahead of the start of the season, and was replaced byEnzo Deligny, who finished third withR-ace GP.[28]
Rodin Motorsport also have three new drivers withLouis Sharp moving to Prema,Callum Voisin competing in Porsche Carrera Cup GB andRoman Bilinski graduating to Formula 2 withDAMS.[29][30][31] The team signedBrando Badoer, who in turn left Prema after finishing his debut season with the team in 25th,2024 Eurocup-3 championChristian Ho, who departedDAMS after coming 22nd in 2025, andPedro Clerot will graduate from FRECA, where he finished fourth withVan Amersfoort Racing.[32][33][34]
Brando Badoer,Ugo Ugochukwu, andNoel León all leftPrema Racing as Badoer and Ugochukwu moved toRodin Motorsport andCampos Racing respectively, while León stepped up to Formula 2 with Campos Racing.[32][11][35]James Wharton returns to Prema, departingART Grand Prix after finishing his full-time debut season in 18th.[21]2024 GB3 ChampionLouis Sharp will join Prema for his sophomore season after a 26th place with Rodin Motorsport in 2025.[29] The team initially signedEnzo Deligny, but he left the team ahead of the start of the season to join Van Amersfoort Racing instead.[36][28] The seat was taken byJosé Garfias, who finished fourth in Euroformula Open with Motopark, and made a one-round appearance last year with AIX Racing.[37]
Hitech also renewed their lineup afterMartinius Stenshorne stepped up to Formula 2 with Rodin Motorsport,Gerrard Xie moved toDAMS and none of the team's four part-time competitors returned.[38] Hitech signed a returnee and two championship debutants:Genesis Magma Racing's Trajectory Program driverMichael Shin who made his FIA F3 debut in2023 withPHM Racing by Charouz and has since been competing inEuroformula Open withTeam Motopark where he finished 3rd,TGR protégéJin Nakamura steps up from FRECA, where he finished 10th withR-ace GP, andFionn McLaughlin enters FIA F3 after winning the2025 F4 British Championship with Hitech's outfit.[39][40][41][42]
AIX Racing will have two new drivers as neitherJames Hedley norNicola Marinangeli returned to the team. To replace them, AIX signed two Euroformula Open graduates:Yevan David, the series runner-up who will become the first Sri Lankan driver to compete in FIA Formula 3, and 7th placedFernando Barrichello, who already deputised for Hedley at the team in the last round of the 2025 season.[43][44]
DAMS Lucas Oil sawChristian Ho join Rodin Motorsport andMatías Zagazeta leave the team and the series.[33] To replace them, the team signed Thai driverNandhavud Bhirombhakdi from FRECA, where he finished 16th withTrident,[45] andGerrard Xie, who joined the team after finishing the 2025 FIA F3 season in 29th driving for Hitech.[46]

Points will be awarded to the top ten classified finishers in both races.[a] The pole-sitter in the feature race will also receive two points, and one point will be given to the driver who set the fastest lap in both the feature and sprint races, provided that driver finished inside the top ten. If the driver who set the fastest lap is classified outside the top ten, the point will be given to the driver who set the fastest lap of those inside the top ten. No extra points will be awarded to the pole-sitter in the sprint race as the grid for it will be set by reversing the top twelve qualifiers.
Points will be awarded to the top ten classified finishers. A bonus point will be awarded to the driver who set the fastest lap and finished in the top ten.[49]
