The anime series was announced on August 2017.[1] It was overall animated by Shin-Ei Animation, directed by Hiroaki Akagi, and composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi. It aired the first season in Japan from January 8, 2018 to March 26, 2018.FUNimation Entertainment produced a SimulDub of the series, which ran on the FunimationNow streaming service from January 28, 2018 to April 15, 2018, before being released on Blu-Ray/DVD on February 19, 2019.
Netflix picked up the series and produced a dub of its second season, which ran from July 7, 2019 to September 22, 2019 in Japan before being released worldwide December 6, 2019. The second season eventually left Netflix on December 5, 2024.
The third season was announced in September 2021 and premiered on the Super Animeism block on MBS and TBS, and other networks on January 8, 2022. On December 28, 2021,Sentai Filmworks announced it had acquired the rights to the third season and the film for worldwide distribution excluding Asia. It premiered onHIDIVE's streaming service on May 6, 2022.[2][3] Most of the voice cast from the Funimation dub were brought back for the third season.

- When Netflix acquired Season 2 of Teasing Master Takagi-San, most of the voice recording was switched over from Dallas to Los Angeles. It would then be switched over from Los Angeles to Houston after Sentai Filmworks acquired Season 3, with the majority of the original cast reprising their roles except forJerry Jewell.Leah Clark, andChris Thurman due to the latter's firing in 2020. Also after episode 5Bryson Baugus takes over the role of Nishikata afterAaron Dismuke went on to vocal healing, it was revealed on the blu-ray release that Sentai decided to have Bryson redub Aaron’s lines.
