One of 2014’s most successfulHearthstone players and one of the top arena streamers have both likely parted ways with North American powerhouse Cloud9.
Andrew “TidesofTime” Biessener and Rumay “Hafu” Wang are no longer part of Cloud9. The organization has yet to make any official statement on the moves. But both players have been removed from the team’s website and Wang has removed all branding from her stream and social media.
Wang has primarily worked a streamer for the majority of herHearthstonecareer, developing a following independent of the team. According to sources, Wang’s contract expired in September and was either not renewed or she chose not to renew it.
Biessener’s status has been a question mark for most of 2015. He was one of the winningest players in 2014, taking the title at the World Esports Championships in China. But Biessener made only limited competitive appearances since jumping fromTempo Storm to Cloud9. He failed to show up for his first three matches in the Hearthstone Pro League and was booted out by organizersPVP Live.
His departure won’t come as much of a surprise, but given his negative attitude towardsHearthstone it could well be a sad end to the career of one of North America’s top players.
