Abstract

With enhanced mobile broadband, massive machine-type communications, and ultra-reliable and low-latency communications, 5G is expected to create new services that have never been imagined before in a variety of sectors. In this paper, we survey recent activities related to 5G security in Japan. Specifically, we introduce “5G Security Guideline Version 1” [13], published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan. Then, we explain several activities toward local 5G deployment in Japan and “Local 5G Security Guideline 1st Edition” [12], published by the ICT Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ICT-ISAC) Japan.
