About the Splunk Supporting Add-on for NetApp

Use the Splunk Supporting Add-on for NetApp with the Splunk Add-on for NetApp Data ONTAP to get real-time and historical visibility into the performance and configuration of your NetApp storage infrastructure. Use this supporting supporting add-on with the Splunk Add-on for NetApp Data ONTAP to collect NetApp API data from one or more NetApp FAS controllers.

The supporting add-on uses the capabilities of a scheduler and the domain-specific data collection nodes (DCNs) to process the data from your storage layer and map it to the app. The Splunk Add-on for NetApp Data ONTAP uses splunkd to index and process your data and the SplunkWeb application server to enable you to search and navigate your data using the dashboards in the Splunk Supporting Add-on for NetAPP.

The supporting add-on package contains simple XML dashboards to monitor NetApp storage infrastructure. SeeDashboard reference for the Splunk Supporting Add-on for NetApp.

The Splunk Supporting Add-on for NetApp and the Splunk App for NetApp Data ONTAP contain identical knowledge objects that cause a conflict when installed on the same search head. To avoid conflict, do not install both apps on the same search head.
