How to Usedladm to Assign Temporary Datalinks

Thedladm command can be used with theset-linkprop subcommand to temporarily assign datalinks torunning exclusive-IP zones. Persistent assignment must be made through thezonecfg command.

  1. Become a network administrator.

    You must be assigned the Network Management rights profile. Theroot role has all of these rights.

  2. Usedladm set-linkprop with the–t to addnet0 to a running zone calledzoneA.
    global$dladm set-linkprop -t -p zone=zoneA net0LINK     PROPERTY        PERM   VALUE        DEFAULT        POSSIBLEnet0     zone            rw     zoneA        --             --

    Tip  - The–p option produces a display using a stablemachine-parsable format.
