How to Exit a Non-Global Zone

  • To disconnect from a non-global zone, use one of the following methods.
    • To exit the zone non-virtual console:
      zonename$exit
    • To disconnect from a zone virtual console, use the tilde (~) character anda period:
      zonename$exit

      Your screen will look similar to this:

      [Connection to zone 'my-zone' pts/6 closed]
    • To exit from a Secure Shell session:
      zonename$~~.

      Note - The default escape sequence forssh is also~, whichcauses thessh session to exit.
