DESCRIPTION
Uninstalling Google Cloud CLI
Note: For installations completed using an OS package (such asapt-get,yum, etc.), uninstall Google Cloud CLI viathe OS package manager.

Note: For Windows installations, execute the uninstaller.exe found under yourGoogle Cloud CLI directory.

To completely remove Google Cloud CLI, follow these instructions:

  • Locate your installation directory by running:
gcloudinfo--format="value(installation.sdk_root)"
  • Locate your user config directory (typically~/.config/gcloud onMacOS and Linux) by running:
gcloudinfo--format="value(config.paths.global_config_dir)"
  • Delete both these directories.
  • Additionally, remove lines sourcingcompletion.bash.inc andpaths.bash.inc in your.bashrc or equivalent shellinit file, if you added them during installation.
  • Review the contents of the.boto file in your home directory andremove the sections '[GoogleCompute]' and '[GSUtil]'. In addition, review thesections '[OAuth2]' and '[Credentials]' for settings that are no longer needed.
  • Some systems may haveCache directories such as~/Library/Caches/ on Mac OS X. Find and delete these directoriesfor your system:
find~/Library/Caches/-typed-name"google-cloud-sdk"|xargsrm-r
NOTES
This command is currently in alpha and might change without notice. If thiscommand fails with API permission errors despite specifying the correct project,you might be trying to access an API with an invitation-only early accessallowlist. These variants are also available:
