Method: projects.dashboards.create

Creates a new custom dashboard. For examples on how you can use this API to create dashboards, seeManaging dashboards by API. This method requires themonitoring.dashboards.create permission on the specified project. For more information about permissions, seeCloud Identity and Access Management.

Path parameters

Parameters
parent

string

Required. The project on which to execute the request. The format is:

projects/[PROJECT_ID_OR_NUMBER]

The[PROJECT_ID_OR_NUMBER] must match the dashboard resource name.

Authorization requires the followingIAM permission on the specified resourceparent:

  • monitoring.dashboards.create

Query parameters

Parameters
validateOnly

boolean

If set, validate the request and preview the review, but do not actually save it.

Request body

The request body contains an instance ofDashboard.

Response body

If successful, the response body contains a newly created instance ofDashboard.

Authorization scopes

Requires one of the following OAuth scopes:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/cloud-platform
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/monitoring
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/monitoring.write
