This page shows you how to get support for Google Kubernetes Engine.
Before you contact support
You can diagnose and resolve many GKE issues on your own, oftenwithout needing to contact Cloud Customer Care or ask the community for help.
Get started with the following resources:
For more information about diagnostic tools, seeIntroduction to GKE troubleshooting.
For step-by-step solutions, see our list offeature-specific troubleshooting guides.
Get a Google support package
Google Cloud offers different support packages to meet differentneeds, such as 24/7 coverage, phone support, and access to a technical supportmanager. For more information, seeCloud Customer Care.
Support for GKE attached clusters
Your Google Cloud support includes support for anyGKE components deployed onattached clusters, though not forthe clusters themselves.
Recommendations for efficient support
You can get the best support by following these recommendations:
Enable Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring. To learn more, seeConfigure logging and monitoring forGKE. Loggingand monitoring data can make it much easier for the support team to identifyissues. If you don't have this information, you might need to takeadditional steps. For example, to provide the same information found in thelogs, you might need to access the GKE nodes directly andtransfer anarchivefile.
When opening a support case, be as specific as possible about your issue, and include at least the following information:
- Name of the cluster
- Timestamp or a time range of when you noticed the issue, including thetimezone
- As many details as possible about what you see and how you noticed theproblem
Giving Cloud Customer Care access to your clusters
When troubleshooting a problem, you might sometimes need to give Cloud Customer Caretemporary read-only access to cluster snapshot data or to the cluster itself tohelp triage your issue. Find out how to do this inGiving Cloud Customer Careaccess to your clustersorGiving Cloud Customer Care access to yoursnapshots.
Get support from the community
Use the following resources to get support from the Google Kubernetes Engine andKubernetes community.
Ask a question on Stack Overflow
Ask a question aboutKubernetesorGKEon Stack Overflow.
For questions about GKE, use thegoogle-kubernetes-engine tag. This tag not only receives responses from theStack Overflow community, but also from Google engineers, who monitor the tagand offer unofficial support. Review themost-asked questions beforeposting a new one. For more information about using tags, seeHow do I use tags to find topics I'm interested in?in the Stack Overflow documentation.
Discuss GKE
Join thekubernetes-usersGoogle group to discuss GKE and receiveGKE announcements and updates.
You can also take the following actions to engage with theGKE community:

File bugs or feature requests
You can submit a product or documentation issue by using one of the followingprocedures:
GKE issues and feature requests: You can check forexisting issues or open new issues in thepublic issuetrackers. Before filing a new issue, searchthe existing issues to avoid duplicates.
If you open a new issue, include the following information:
- Kubernetes version and
kubectlversion - Cloud provider, operating system, network configuration, and Dockerversion
- Steps to reproduce the problem
- Kubernetes version and
Open-source Kubernetes issues or feature requests: If you encounter abug or want to request a feature for Kubernetes, file an issue onGitHub.
Documentation issues: From the GKE documentation, clickSend feedback > Documentation feedback. This button opens afeedback form. The Google Kubernetes Engine documentation team reviews the commentsthat you submit.
Shared responsibility model
Running a business-critical production application on GKErequires multiple parties to carry different responsibilities. Theseresponsibilities are described atGKE shared responsibility.
