Synopsis[]

Vee competes in the annual Transylvanian spelling bee.

Plot[]

Vampirina tells Nanpire about what she did yesterday, and Nanpire is going to the Transylvania Spelling Bee, which is where young monsters use magical wands to cast spooktacular spells and the monster with the best spell wins. Nanpire competed there when she was young, and Vampirina wishes she could do the same. After some motivation byDemi andGregoria, she decides to enter. Vampirina later tellsPoppy andBridget what the event is about. Demi and Gregoria bring a package from Nanpire containing a rule book which helps her get ready for the spelling bee. Vampirina has to use a wand that shows who she is, and decides to make one with help with her friends.

Once the wand is ready, Vampirina loves it. She has to use it to create a spooktacular spell, and Vampirina decides to make a spell that makes Poppy and Bridget dance. However, the spell hits the couch and while trying to reverse it, Vampirina turns Demi into a frog. Poppy tells Vampirina to practice a little more, and Vampirina turns Demi back to normal. Vampirina tries the dance spell again, and decides to keep practicing to get ready for the spelling bee.

At the event, Nanpire catches up with Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget, and likes Vampirina's wand. Frankie then shows up with her wand, which she ordered months ago from FAO Shrieks.Phoebe shows up with her wand, which is passed down through generations of Ravenson witches and made with shooting stars and the roar of a griffin. Fangbert's wand is one summoned by his grandwolf from a full moon. Vampirina tells him the characteristics of her wand and how it matches herself. Poppy knows the other wands were cool and she and Bridget are still supportive of Vampirina's wand.

Vampirina then sees wands from past spelling bee champions and picks one to use for herself. The spelling bee then begins, hosted by Madame Spook. While the others excel at their spells, Vampirina decides to perform a friendship spell. However, it doesn't work, and she goes for a time-out. Vampirina apologizes to Nanpire for not competing in the spelling bee. Nanpire knows the wand Vampirina used didn't work, as it didn't match her characteristics. Vampirina's friends know that her wand is special because it's about her home, friends, and music. Vampirina's own wand is special because she is special. Later, Vampirina uses her wand to make Poppy and Bridget dance in the air, and the spell works perfectly that time. Although Phoebe is declared the winner of the spelling bee, Nanpire and the others are still proud of Vampirina for being true to herself. While trying to recite a celebration spell, Demi turns himself into a frog again.
