Appearances[]
Toy Story[]
InToy Story, Shark is first seen coming alive afterWoody signals to all the toys that it's safe to come out. Shark is next seen talking to Woody an undisclosed amount of time later. When Woody wakes up in the toy box and notices he doesn't have his hat on, Shark mocks Woody while wearing his hat, saying, "Look, I'm Woody! Howdy, howdy, howdy!" Once Woody notices, he takes his hat back, unamused by Shark's joke.
Toy Story Treats[]
In some of theToy Story Treats, he tells the toys horror stories, while the other toys listen in fear.
Toy Story 2[]
InToy Story 2, when Andy plays with his toys before leaving for his cowboy camp, he makes Shark one of the death traps set forBo Peep byEvil Dr. Porkchop, whom Woody must save. During an emergency roll call due to a yard sale, Shark along with the other toys are seen coming out of Andy's toy box. At the end,Wheezy credits Shark for finding him an extra squeaker in the toy box as a replacement for his old, broken squeaker.
Toy Story 3[]
Shark was one of the only toys not seen in the series of home movies at the beginning ofToy Story 3. It is unknown what happened to Shark betweenToy Story 2 and3.
Trivia[]
- Shark's line when pretending to beWoody is a reference to a cowboy-eating vulture in one of Gary Larson'sThe Far Side daily comic strips from the early1980s: "Hey, everyone, look at me, I'm a cowboy! Howdy! Howdy! Howdy!"
- InToy Story 2, Shark's color is changed from blue to gray. It is possible that Shark's paint started to fade out some time between the events fromToy Story toToy Story 2.
- Shark appeared as an enemy in theSega Genesis game ofToy Story.
- Shark's model makes him appear unusually long, while also missing a tail. However, the audience would never notice this, as he is almost always peeking out of the toy box.
