Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is an animated series, based on theMarvel Comics superhero duo of the same name. It premiered onFebruary 10,2023 on theDisney Channel, and was released onDisney+ five days later.
The series received highly positive reviews for its writing, animation, soundtrack, representation, and characters. The series won five Children's and Family Emmy Awards.
Based on Marvel's hit comic books, "Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her 10-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City via an interdimensional portal, the duo works together to protect the city's Lower East Side from danger.
In Season 2, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are in their element as Super Heroes; however, as Moon Girl's Super Hero-ing intertwines more with her personal life, she must decide if the cost of keeping her identity a secret is worth the toll it takes on her family. This season also transitions the show over to being serialized/story-driven, with the introduction of this season's main villain, Molecule Man.
The soundtrack to the series was released the day of the series premiere and features music from various artists includingDiamond White, the voice ofMoon Girl. One of the songs featured is a cover of Bill Withers' "Just the Two of Us".

Following the episode "Today, I Am a Woman", Steve Loter was asked if the series is canon with theMarvel Cinematic Universe, but he responded with a zipped lip emoji.[2] He later admitted that while the series is not directly tied to the MCU, it will continue to borrow heavy elements.[3]
The overall look of the show was inspired by pop art and graffiti, specifically those inspired by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Keith Haring.[4]
Steve Loter hinted that the series might crossover, not just with other Marvel characters, but other Disney Television animation shows as well.[3]
