Synopsis[]

While playing pretend hospital, DoctorFozzie quickly gets too many patients.

Plot[]

In the playroom, Fozzie is pretending to be a doctor to his rubber chicken Sir Featherbrain. Afterwards, Kermit decides to be his next patient. While doing so, Gonzo, Piggy, Summer and Animal become curious and join in. Fozzie declares that Kermit has a severe case of Greenitis and needs to be sent to the Get Well Soon Center. To help him out, Fozzie assigns Gonzo as the nurse, Summer as the ‘bandage sticker on-er’, Piggy as the ambulance caller and Animal as the ambulance.

They bring Kermit into the emergency room. Fozzie asks Gonzo to get Kermit’s personal file, but Gonzo declines, declaring to be on a ‘nurse’s break’. In the meantime, Summer and Piggy try to help make Kermit feel comfortable, but end up messing with the bed. Fozzie runs a diagnosis and prescribes a healthy dose of jokes, declaring laughter to be the best medicine.

The joke ends with Fozzie giving Kermit an ice cream sundae. Piggy and Summer then ask when the helpers get ice cream, to which Fozzie responds that ice cream is for patients only. Knowing this, Summer gets an idea and pretends to be sick herself. The others send her to another room where she explains that she has a sick bellybutton and requests some ice cream (even though she can’t make up her mind between chocolate or vanilla). Suddenly, Piggy starts pretending to have a tickling eyelash. However, that ailment does not qualify for ice cream, so she exaggerates more by saying she feels woozy.

Gonzo comes in saying that he’s not a nurse anymore, but a patient, saying that his nose is slightly bent (despite the fact that it’s always been that way). Fozzie starts to feel overwhelmed as everyone keeps asking for something, but nobody is helping. Kermit keeps asking for jokes, Piggy and Gonzo keep demanding ice cream, Summer still can’t make up her mind on what flavor and Animal keeps running down the halls. Ultimately, the pressure becomes too much and Fozzie starts to collapse on the bed, too worn out to do anything.

Summer begins to realize that they’re the ones who overworked Fozzie, as they all pretended to be sick just so they could have ice cream, but they didn’t help at all. So they decide to take care of him by telling him jokes to cheer him up.

In the end, Fozzie starts feeling better and the others apologize for not helping. Fozzie forgives them and they all go back to telling more jokes.

• Moral: Being a doctor is hard work, and sometimes they can need help too.
